Divineweds.com is a Catholic Matrimonial Site for eligible Catholic men and women who would like to enter into the sacramental covenant of marriage. It is not a dating app and is strictly for those who value and plan a family life through the Sacrament of Catholic Marriage with all its legality and implications. This is an initiative from Don Bosco Developmental Society (DBDS) having its registered office at Provincial House, Mathias Institute, Mawlai, Shillong 793008, Meghalaya, under Hima Mylliem.

Registration and Renewal Process

The process of registration is as per the following steps:

  1. An applicant who wishes to use the matrimonial site/app will have to first register through the app/site with valid credentials that are asked.
  2. Once credentials are submitted, the login name and password would be communicated to the applicant via return E-mail/sms.
  3. The applicant can login using the above credentials. In order to update the self-profile and use the matrimonial fully, a one-time Registration fee of Rs. 500 is required.
  4. After successful payment verification, the applicant can login to submit required fields with valid information and documents thereof required.
  5. After completion of one calendar year from the date of payment, if an applicant wants continue to use the matrimonial then a renewal charge of Rs 250/ will be applicable for another calendar year.
  6. The above process is as fixed by the developers currently (2023). Changes in the process and rates may be introduced if required.

Verification Process

Here is the process followed for verification of an applicant who has registered and paid the initial amount:

  • The verification process is carried out for an applicant who has registered and paid the initial registration fee by the technical team of Catholic Staff appointed by the Don Bosco Developmental Society (DBDS).
  • For a valid entry, the verification process consists of checking the credentials of the individual against the following parameters and the availability of mandatory documents:
    • The person should be a Catholic who can legally enter into a Catholic marriage with no impediments specified in the Canon Law.
    • The person should be unmarried or widowed.
    • The person should be a practicing member of a Catholic Parish with the domicile within the parish specified.
  • The verification process will include contacting the parish priest to affirm the domicile of such a person within the parish specified.
  • All documents submitted (Baptism Certificate, Letter of reference from the Parish or any other) will also be verified by contacting the parish concerned.

Checklists of documents required for verification:

  • A valid identity card specifying the name, date of birth.
  • Baptism certificate from the Parish.
  • A letter of reference, with no objection to marriage from the parish priest of the parish of domicile.

Rejection Process

The rejection process details the steps involved or reasons for rejection of an applicant from the matrimonial:

  • Any of the following or all are considered valid reasons for the rejection:
    • The applicant does not belong to the Catholic Faith.
    • Any of the documents provided by the applicant has false information.
    • If verification with reliable sources of any of the information provided proves not in favor of the applicant.
    • The report from the Parish Concerned or the diocese is not in favor of the individual.
    • If the information received from the Parish concerned or any other valid source is not in favor.
    • If the applicant’s behavior and name are in the wrong in a public forum.
    • Or any other matter that may be considered counter to the purpose of this matrimonial by the authority.
  • In the case of a rejection of an applicant from the matrimonial, the details of the applicant are removed from the visible screens, and no refund for such cases are entertained.

Appeal Process

This section details the process of appeal, for a registration that has been rejected by the technical team based on reasons listed on the rejection process:

  • If an applicant feels that the rejection has been unfair, he/she can apply for a reconsideration of the same to the e-mail given in the Contact Us section.
  • The technical team will study the matter submitted and get back to the complainant within a month.
  • During the process of appeal, further verification and clarification may be sought from the individual or other legal entities if needed.
  • The decision of the appeal process, once the study is done, shall be communicated to the applicant via email.
  • There shall not be a further appeal on matters or individuals that have already been considered or a decision taken. However, if conditions for rejection are changed or no more applicable, the applicant may further appeal.
